In the water filter industry there are several trade shows every year. The most important of those is the exhibition that held in PWTC. Several companies will launch new products at that particular show that are brand new to the industry. It is exciting because these companies will make sure their trade show booth is designed with precision. Some companies spare no expense because it is known that investors spend time at that trade show actually looking for companies with which they want to do business.
To stand out you have to make sure your booth stands out and sets itself apart from the others. It is easy to tell which companies are ready for the shows and which are not simply by walking around the showroom floor. Most company names will not be recognized at this show simply because they are all new companies who have a good idea that they think will go big at some point in the future. Some companies will use this show and make it big while most will not. event boothThe ones who will not make it big are the companies that are simply out-shined by the competition.
It is not because their idea is any better or worse than anyone else’s, but perhaps that their event booth design did not stand out. Ultimately there is too much competition for all of the ideas to get out into the market. Typically tradeshows have been for users who are looking for water filter to become familiar with new products themselves. However this has changed over the years. It seems that now it is becoming more of an investor’s game.
Companies are not necessarily catering to the water filter any longer, but to the investors who can invest money to help market their product or service. Many people start to wonder why there even needs to have such road show any longer because at this particular show they seem to play 2nd fiddle to those individuals who represent larger firms or those who represent water filter supply companies. Most other shows in the water filter industry have maintained their sensitivity to the company and remain connected to them.
At most other trade shows, Coway will attend continuing education classes where they can get professional credit and show that they are maintaining a connection to what is going on in industry. At the PWTC road show however these types of classes have been on the decline in recent years.
Some are speculating that it is because there are less and less company who actually come to the show each year. Interestingly enough there is also more and more demand for show tickets each year. One can start to come to the conclusion that this particular trade show is transforming into something other than what it started out to be, and in spite of this it becomes the most well attended show of the year with the most money spent on lavish event booths. Clearly there is a market for this type of show, but one has to wonder if it shouldn’t have started out catering to investors in the first place.
